Unstable RDP - tweaks?

I have installed FG on a debian12 with 3 cores and 6Gb of RAM.

I noticed RDP to servers behind FG are regularly freezing (every few minutes) but it’s not all the servers at the same time (= server 1 RDP is freezing but server2 RDP continue to work, then it will be server3 that freezes during 15 seconds and so on).

On one of the RDP servers, I launched a permanent ping to the FG server : no loss
Also have a permanent ping from my computer to the FG server (through the internet) : no loss

  • permanent ping from FG server to one of the windows server: no loss

When the freeze occurs, no error is logged on the FG client.
The target platform hosting the servers have a 100Mb internet connection (which is barely used).

A ‘top’ on the debian shows the machine is very idle.

From a platform perspective, FG and Windows servers are on the same network with nothing between them.

In //, I have setup direct RDP to these servers over the internet and without using FG, it is smooth and never freezes.

I also tried hosting the FG public IP on the VM itself instead of the fw without a better result.

I’m not sure if FG is able to handle RDP, if a tweak has to be done in its configuration thus asking if someone has a working setup with FG to perform RDP.

Thanks for your feedback

please change client to TCP. Open options and try TCP.

It seems actually that not using RDCMan but the windows RDP client itself in ‘single’ target mode does the trick… Should have tested this way first !
